Photography has been a major part of my life for the last decade. My favorite thing about photographing weddings is documenting the joy and celebration of unique couples and their families and friends. My philosophy is to capture natural, candid moments that document real emotions and interactions. I blend creativity, context, and storytelling to make images that show people as they really are, in real places.
When I’m not photographing people, I’m photographing places. Hiking, camping, and landscape photography are my hobbies and I’m glad I can combine them. I’ve been fortunate enough to practice my landscape photography at several US National Parks, including Yosemite, Yellowstone, Glacier, Grand Teton, Badlands, and the Channel Islands. I’m willing to haul my tripod for miles, sometimes to the tops of mountains, to get the shot. Growing up in Wisconsin, I learned to appreciate forests, prairies, streams, lakes, and rolling hills. Even though I loved Wisconsin and the midwest, I couldn’t be more excited to continue my journey as photographer here in Bellingham with my wife, Annie and our puppy, Gus!
